Austin P. Dibble was raised in Barry County, Michigan. At 21 years old he enlisted on 5/13/1861 at Grand Rapids, MI as a Private.
On 6/10/1861 he mustered into "K" Co. MI 3rd Infantry
He was discharged for disability on 7/17/1862 at Harrison's Landing, VA (Discharged on account of sunstroke)
On 5/19/1863 he mustered into "M" Co. MI 9th Cavalry
He was transferred out on 5/20/1863
On 5/20/1863 he transferred into "Batty L" Co. MI 1st Light Artillery
He was discharged on 8/22/1865 at Jackson, MI
